Our Presenters:
Ceci Tejeda is a Cartoneria (papier mache) artist. Born in Mexico City, she now resides in Southeastern Wisconsin and has created work for numerous local and national events focusing on immigrant rights and cultural preservation.
Chong Ntxoo Moua (PhD) is an historian and Assistant Professor of Hmong Studies at UW Oshkosh. Her research and expertise has contributed to public history and community-based projects in Wisconsin and nationally.
Ger Xiong/Ntxawg Xyooj, a metalsmith and textile artist, was born in Thailand and
immigrated to the US in 1993 as a Hmong refugee of the Vietnam War. He grew up in NE Wisconsin and an alumnus of UW Whitewater.
Siobhan Marks / Zeegwun Noodinese, is the Communications and Marketing Director at the Indian Community School in Franklin, WI. She is a lineal descendant of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is Eagle Clan. Her talk will focus on the traditional dress of Woodland women, its historical significance, and its current resurgence.
